Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Local Links collects, why, and the choices you have. Local Links is a San Diego County golf discovery, community and trip-planning app.

What we collect

• Account details — your name, email address and password (handled by our sign-in service), plus the sign-in provider if you use Google, Microsoft, Facebook or Apple.
• Your golf profile — display name, contact email, skill level, playing style, budget preference, home course, preferred regions and profile photo.
• Content you add — community posts, photos, comments, course conditions and busyness reports, trip plans, open rounds and messages.
• Activity in the app — which courses you favourite, trips you build and reports you submit, so the app can show you your own history.
• Membership and payments — your plan status and the confirmation references from our payment provider. Card numbers and billing addresses are entered on the payment provider's secure checkout and are not stored by Local Links.
• Location you choose to share — only when you use the map or a weather forecast, and only for the area of the map you are viewing.

How we use it

• To run your account and show you courses, rounds, trips and community content.
• To connect you with other golfers when you post or join a round.
• To check photos you upload before publishing them, and to review reported content.
• To manage your membership and keep payment records.
• To understand which parts of the app are useful, so we can improve them.

What other golfers see

Your display name, profile photo and anything you post are visible to other people using Local Links. Course busyness reports and condition reports are shown without your email address. Your email address and messages are only shared with the golfers you are in a round or conversation with. Do not put personal details you want to keep private into a public post.

Who we share with

We do not sell your personal information. We share the minimum needed with the services that run the app: secure hosting and sign-in, the payment provider that processes your membership, and automated review tools used to check uploaded photos and reports. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety or rights.

Storage and retention

Your data is stored on our hosting provider's servers. We keep it while your account is open, and afterwards only as long as needed for records such as payments and takedown requests. Photos you upload are stored with the app so course galleries keep working.

Your choices

• You can edit or clear most of your profile details in the app at any time.
• You can delete your own posts, photos and comments.
• You can ask us to delete your account and personal data, or ask for a copy of it, through the contact page. As a California resident you also have the right to know what we hold and to ask us not to share it, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
• You can cancel your membership from your profile whenever you like.

Cookies and local storage

Local Links uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember simple preferences. We do not use it to track you across other websites.

Children

Local Links is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way we will make it clear in the app before the change takes effect.
